A Journey is Planned

While the Building Committee is addressing facilities that will serve us for the next 50 years, we know we are called to prayerfully reflect on the vision for CUMC into the next 50 years. 

On the 17th of August 2008, CUMC will embark on a dynamic journey discerning God’s will for CUMC which will prepare us for ministry and mission in the next 50 years.  This process involves eighteen months of Bible study, discussion, celebration, and validating who God calls us to be. 

It will follow a three phase process developed by the Center for Parish Development and used successfully by many churches and many denominations.  The process will introduce the congregation to resources and activities that are designed to lead us to think  about and practice afresh what God is calling CUMC to be and do.  It will also lead us to discover how to become more flexible, agile, and responsive to the turbulent world in which we will live out our next 50 years.
